Getting Things Done Means… Getting Things Done

Date Published

A photorealistic, abstract 16:9 image depicting the emotional struggle with to-do lists. On one side, shadowy, monster-like figures symbolizing overwhelming tasks chase a stressed person through a surreal landscape, even into a bedroom scene suggesting insomnia. On the other side, a calm individual, depicted as a focused sniper, calmly targets cartoonish chickens representing manageable tasks. The background blends chaotic and peaceful elements, illustrating the contrast between anxiety and relaxed productivity.

We are often emotionally attached to our todo lists, aren't we? These are just things that ought to be done however they become some monsters that we have to fight.

The monsters are chasing us all day long and even in bed, then we are having something called by experts "insomnia". Furthermore research proven that some people have monsters to fight but others are just snipers that shoot to chicken.

What is the difference between them? The people who have monsters wherever they go are emotionally attached to the things they ought to be doing and they "experience it" but the people who have chickens to shoot are people who treat todo list as a record of all things they ought to be doing, but they know they are not able to do everything, they are not superhuman, this way they can relax and sleep without nightmares.

To change this just try to think of todo list or GTD (Getting Things Done by David Allen) System as of a record a machine which is there to provide value to you but it is not required for you to have it empty, it even shouldn't be empty!
