"Luck Comes After Lots of Hard Work"

If we will input to it some crap (eg. something that reassembles silver or complete random trash) that is not silver should we expect that we would get gold? No. We should only input silver because of course it won't give us the gold but what's more it is possible that it would break.
It seems intuitive but when it comes to apply this in real life it is hard. Really hard. Because it teaches that we NEED TO DO THE HARD WORK, without it nothing matters because the machine of life and luck won't give even a chance.
There is a saying that "Luck comes after (tons of) hard work". It works, because when I work hard I deliver value. Just I need to work smart and work hard and I am headed to success.
